The Iranian Medical Informatics Association, an official member of IMIA, has been established for scientific, research, professional and technical purposes in the interdisciplinary field of medical informatics and related fields. To achieve these goals, the Medical Informatics Association performs the following actions and activities:
1. Establishing scientific, technical, research, educational and exchange relations between researchers, specialists and other experts who are somehow active in various branches of the field related to the association
2. Cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, universities and educational and research institutes, as well as other organizations that are somehow related to the activities of the association in order to plan educational, research, health and treatment affairs.
3. Educational and health program in the field of reviewing and evaluating educational and health programs, educational treatment and scientific level of graduates of different levels of medical sciences and interdisciplinary sciences
4. Providing educational, scientific, technical and research services based on relevant criteria
5. Encourage scientists, researchers and students in promoting scientific, research and educational activities, health and treatment
6. Preparing, compiling and publishing scientific and educational publications
7. Holding educational and research gatherings, continuing education at national and international levels in compliance with current laws and regulations of the country
8. Provide a suitable environment for conducting scientific research related to the relevant field, especially by encouraging young professionals
9. Participation in the formation of the Council of Scientific Associations of Iran Medical Group and planning related matters
10. Attracting the support of international institutions to carry out scientific and research activities in the national arena and within the framework of the current criteria of the country
